Frequently Asked Questions
Why can I not play on a desktop or laptop?
Knockout Darts is designed specifically for touch play on phones and tablets. Desktop users are shown a QR code that can be scanned to continue on a supported device.
Why must I keep my device in portrait?
The game interface, dartboard and controls are optimised for portrait play. Turn your device upright to continue.
How do I throw a dart?
Aim at the board, press and hold to control the power, then release your finger to throw.
Why did my dart not land exactly where I aimed?
The final result is affected by your aim, release timing, power and the difficulty profile of the current tier. The displayed dart position represents the recorded scoring result.
How many darts do I receive?
The number of darts depends on the game mode and tournament settings. Your remaining darts are always shown on screen.
What happens when all my darts have been thrown?
Your score is submitted automatically. You will then see the appropriate result, stage status or waiting screen.
What does “Waiting for opponent” mean?
Your stage has been completed and your score has been recorded. The platform is waiting for the other player to finish. You can leave the screen open and it will refresh automatically.
Can I practise without entering a tournament?
Yes. Open the Practice Arena to use Quick Warm-up, Target Trainer or Friendly Match.
How do I invite someone to a Friendly Match?
Use the Share, Copy Link or QR Code option. The other player can open the invitation on their phone or tablet.
Why is my chosen player name unavailable?
Player display names must be unique. Names are compared without regard to capital letters or unnecessary spaces. Choose one of the suggested alternatives or enter a different name.
Why is there no sound?
Check that your phone is not muted and that the browser has permission to play audio. On some devices, sound becomes available only after your first tap.
What happens if my connection drops?
Do not repeatedly refresh while a dart is being submitted. Reconnect and return to the game. Accepted throws and completed stage results are stored by the server.
Can I return to my game later?
Yes. Returning recognised players are taken back to their personalised lobby, where the current tournament and stage status are shown.
How are leaderboard positions decided?
Leaderboard rankings are based on the scores and rules configured for the active competition. The leaderboard screen displays the latest available ranking information.
Are prizes guaranteed?
Prize information and eligibility rules are shown for the relevant tournament. Any demo balance, demonstration prize or test content has no real cash value unless the venue or organiser clearly states otherwise.
Who should I contact if something goes wrong?
Please speak to the venue team or tournament organiser and provide your player name, the screen you were using and a brief description of what happened.
